Don Rodger has returned to the Custom Collection Team

I am pleased to announce that Don Rodger has returned to the Custom Program semen collection team on a part time, contractual basis.

Donnie will be working with the collection team in a training capacity as well as assisting in all collection room activities. For 20 years Don Rodger was herdsman and an integral part of the collection team with Western breeders and Alta Genetics. Donnie’s knowledge and skill level in collecting bulls will be a valuable training tool for all new and current herdsmen at Alta.

Currently Donnie is enjoying a very successful career with Bonaventure Oil and will be assisting us on his days off. How’s that for passion for this industry! When I began at Alta in 1992 (then Western Breeders) Donnie taught me everything I know. Donnie is brilliant when it comes to collection techniques, electro-ejaculating, teaser handling and general collection room strategy. This is evident by the success of current collectors like Justin Fuhriman and Ryan Lundberg who trained with Donnie in previous years. We are very fortunate to have this skill set in Justin and now again with Donnie in our collection room for ongoing training.

Please join me in welcoming Donnie back in this new capacity. His presence will continue to add strength and knowledge to the growing custom collection program.
