Dr. Mike Overton has joined our AltaPreg Specialist team

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mike Overton has joined our AltaPreg Specialist team as an outside consultant.

Dr. Overton brings extensive experience and expertise to our AltaPreg team. Dr. Overton is an associate professor in Dairy Production Medicine and the Director of the Food, Animal Health & Management Program at the University of Georgia. In addition to his DVM degree from North Carolina State University, Dr. Overton holds a Masters of Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the University of California-Davis, where he also performed his Dairy Production Medicine Residency. Dr. Overton brings expertise in reproductive management, cow comfort/ housing issues, transition cow and mastitis treatment and management.

Dr. Overton has given presentations on dairy herd health management in the U.S. and internationally, including Mexico, China, South America and Italy. In the past ten years, Dr. Overton has given approximately two hundred professional presentations. His articles have been well published and he has served as an ad hoc reviewer on several veterinary journals. Currently, Overton acts as Chairman of the Reproduction Committee for the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and as the dairy chair for the North American Veterinary Conference.
