Dynasty Ranks 4th on Dutch System

Alta’s foray into the testing environment in the Netherlands had hinged upon two clear points: a strong data infrastructure for testing and the market demand for an organization to sample high component genetics, but with higher type. Dynasty is proof of the success of this venture – and more sires like him will are on the way! The Dynasty daughters are undeniably high production animals, but they also deliver high fat and protein content in their milk. Sired by the wildly popular Lucky Leo, Dynasty daughters also have exceptionally pleasing overall type. In fact Dynasty, at 111, is the highest rated type sire among the top 100 DPS listing in the Netherlands! Dynasty’s sire Lucky Leo is not well known in the US and as a consequence, it is difficult for the Interbull conversion process to provide a fair assessment on what to expect type-wise from this bull. While his PTAT of +1.36 and his F&L score of +1.79 are reasonable, his rating of just +0.75 for UDC is a little disappointing and seems low. By comparison, another popular Dutch sire Kermit who is rated 108 for Udders in the Netherlands converts to +1.23 UDC.
Despite the disappointing US Udder score, Dynasty is a strong contributor to Alta’s CheeseMaker program. He offers exceptional high component milk production and what we believe will be long-lasting, trouble-free type. Without question, Dynasty will be used as a sire of sons in Europe. Lucky Leo is demonstrating an ability to deliver top rated sons like few other bulls – but even in his home country where the majority of those bulls have been tested, Dynasty is clearly the best of the group.
