Dante Surprises in Italy Italian national Holstein Show 2004 Cremona Italy - October 30th Alta Genetics had a very good day at the 2004 Italian National Holstein Show held October 30th in Cremona. 273 head exhibited by 100 exhibitors paraded before Judge Giuseppe Quaini. By the end of the day all agreed that this was the strongest national show ever, especially the Aged Cow class that saw 23 head of great older cows on the green shavings, however class depth abounded in all classes of the day.
In the Senior 3 year-old class Brill Dante Feeling was 4th exhibited by Davide Piola. In the Senior 4 year-old class Fantasy Erica ET sired by Dixie-Lee Aaron was 5th Exhibited by Guido Oitana. This tall great uddered cow is also the number 50 cow on the Italian PFT list. (PFT is the same as CTPI in the US.) showing that Aaron can sire the right kind for the show ring and be bull dams at the same time. Then, without a doubt, the strongest aged cow class ever held in Cremona paraded before Judge Quaini. When the ribbons were tied on the following were the results. 1st Posal Sam Olimpia sired by Rich-Ro Mark Sam was exhibited by Posticchia Sabelli. Olimpia is no newcomer to the showring having won in Brussels a couple of years back. 2nd Val Bas Jed Dorotea sired by Juniper Rotate Jed. This great-framed Jed has won many times at shows around Italy 4th Sambugaro Luke Lady ET sired by Norrielake Cleitus Luke exhibited by Luigi and Fabio Sambugaro. To top things off Luke Lady was named Best Uddered of this great aged-cow class!! To top things off Dante was #4 in the premier sire list missing being second by just 2 points.
These results show that using Alta Sires can both add to the bottom line in the milking parlor but also add to a herd’s promotion in the show ring. Posted Nov 2nd |
