Impressive Type in Holland

Over the past year Lucky Mike has reigned supreme in the Netherlands as the country’s top Type sire. As important a figure head as he is, Lucky Mike isn’t the only Alta sire that appears among the top bulls with milking daughters on the official Dutch Type listing. In fact, there are 4 Alta sires among the top 10 list – two developed from Alta’s European sampling efforts and two who are second crop success stories, originally tested in the US.

Dutch Type Leaders
Name Rating
Lucky Mike 113
Roylane Jordan Et 113
Canyon-Breeze Allen Et 113
Silverpost Sinatra 112
Frankenhof Accoord 112
Woudhoeve Superior 112
Delta Piraat 112
Dixie-Lee Aaron Et 112
Comestar Stormatic 112
Regancrest Elton Dante Et 112

Indeed, Lucky Mike heads a prestigious group of bulls rated 113 for Type, but noteworthy is the newcomer sired by Aaron – Frankenhof Accoord, who with a rating of 112 is nipping at his heels! Furthermore, highly acclaimed Udder and Leg specialists Dixie-Lee Aaron and Regancrest Elton Dante are also rated 112 for overall Type.

But back to Lucky Mike and Accoord… The Dutch Top-10 Type listing includes 5 bulls originally sampled in the Netherlands and 5 that include a combination of Dutch daughters and daughters from other Interbull countries. That Alta has already developed two of the “home-grown” Type leaders is noteworthy, but that Alta would boast more bulls on the list than the local monopoly speaks volumes.

In North America, many producers know first hand the impressive and consistent results that can be expected from Aaron and Dante. Still, many of these same producers have not yet acknowledged that bulls like Lucky Mike and Accoord are equal to the task. Highly acclaimed and extremely popular in their native country these are bulls that discerning breeders will appreciate.
