2nd Crop AltaBINGO Success

All around Holland and many other countries the second crop AltaBINGO daughters are calving out now. Many enthusiastic stories are heard by our sales representatives.

"The 7 AltaBINGO daughters that we are milking now average 73 days in lactation, with an average production of 37.7 kg (83 lbs) per day. We are surprised that they are producing so much milk. Two of them have peaked at almost 50 kg (110 lbs)", according to Jan Vos, Koepon Garnwerd Farm Manager.

Vos continues: "The AltaBINGO's are not show winning cows, but are cows that can easily handle high production and they are taking good care of themselves in the large groups that we have. They’re real easy cows to work with, with good temperament and very good milking speed."

With the initial group of second crop daughters added to his index (59 new daughters, see table), AltaBINGO increased all his figures for production (DPST, DPS, INET, Milk, Fat and Protein) and also his figures for Durability (now at 108) and Temperament while maintaining his type rating. Farmers around Holland, like Jan Vos, are very pleased with these wonderful milking cows.

At the Koepon farm in Garnwerd, Jan Vos is working with 4 colleagues in a 275 cow herd that includes about 160 ha (400 acres) of land.
