Alta Dairy Day at November 17th 2006 in Alblasserwaard
On Friday November 17th 2006, Alta will host its 5th Alta Dairy Day in the Alblasserwaard at the dairy farm of the Van den Heuvel family in Molenaarsgraaf. On this commercial dairy farm with 200 cows, all the milk is being used for their own production of cheese and other dairy products. Aside from that, a brother of the family is active in the construction of dairy equipment for cheese and other dairy products.
The formula for Alta Dairy Day will be the same as previous years: impressive daughter groups will be shown and interesting lectures will be offered for progressive farmers of the future! It is expected that 25commercial exhibitors will be present to visit with attendees. The practical set-up of the Van den Heuvel family will provide food for though on the ins and outs of running a smart and profitable enterprise. The Alta Dairy Day is an event where every dairy producer can gain knowledge concerning breeding, fertility and farm management.
3,600 Visitors in 2005
Last year, the Alta Dairy Day was held at the agricultural educational establishment from PTC+ in Oenkerk. The theme was “Farming with Brains” and 3,600 visitors took part. The daughter groups of Nederhorst Darwin (AltaDARWIN), QG Cosmonaut (AltaCOSMONAUT), Alta Amok (AltaAMOK), Den Dogge Lemmer (AltaLEMMER) and De Crob Bingo (AltaBINGO) made strong impressions on the public. Invited speakers -Bartele Verbeek (Alta), Joep Driessen (VetVice), Lubbert van Dellen (AVM-accountants) and Frans Keurentjes (EDF) elaborated on their vision for the future with reference to the theme, generating positive feedback from participants. More than 25 companies from the agri-business sector presented their wares and were kepty busy by the many visitors.
