AltaLUCKY MIKE daughters outperform their dams!

Last week we received from Alex Borst (Koepon herdmanager) the results of the classification of the heifers at Koepon, Feerwerd (NLD). The NRS-classifier scored in total 8 daughters of Lucky Mike. Four scored VG85, two GP84, one GP83 and the lowest GP82! For all traits they scored above 80 points. Consistency is what you can expect! On average they scored 85.1 frame, 85.5 dairyness, 83.8 udder, 83.5 feet and legs and in total 84.1. Those young heifers on average recorded a stature of 148 cm (58.3 inch) – thus they are also tall heifers.

Alex Borst also compared those type scores against their dams. The conclusion: they really outperform their dams. On average they scored 2 points better for type! For frame and for feet&legs they scored 1.4 and 1.6 points higher respectively. Also on the udders they outperform their dams quite easily with a 2.8 point advantage. So it is not a surprising that in the last proof run AltaLUCKY MIKE already posted an improvement on his udders core (108), on paper his lowest score. With those exciting results he will convince the most discriminating breeders and progressive dairy farmers around the globe!
