August 2011 G-Star & FutureStar Power
After each genetic evaluation new daughter proven sires are highlighted, however, the most influential part of Alta's August proof run may be the new additions to the G-Star and FutureStar lists.

The tremendous amount of genetic progress that is possible with genomics is more evident now than it has ever been. After each genetic evaluation new daughter proven sires are highlighted, however, the most influential part of Alta's August proof run may be the new additions to the G-Star and FutureStar lists. These new additions now have semen widely available for those who want to maximize genetic progress, focus on fertility, or both!
Growing G-Star and FutureStar lists coincide with the demand for these brands and reinforces Alta's commitment to providing the best genetics in the industry. G-Star sires offer a variety of pedigrees and rank among the highest genomic bulls available. The group of 42 G-Star bulls total averages an impressive 2212 GTPI, 662 GNM$, 1332 lbs GPTAM and 2.45 GPTAT. This August, 6 new G-Star bulls have been added to the list. These bulls are all >2300 GTPI, which brings the list to 9 bulls over this remarkable TPI value.

New bulls admitted to the FutureStar lineup are no less impressive. This round, the list features 8 new bulls that are higher for GTPI than the previous high (2146 GTPI) from April. Several of these sires were former G-Stars. FutureStar averages increased for every major trait since April, providing an average of 2078 GTPI – a level equal to that of the renowned AltaROSS!
In addition to being fertility standouts, FutureStar bulls have actual observations for both sire calving ease and sire stillbirth from Advantage® herds, as well as increased accuracy of their genomic predictions that comes from having highly reliable and trusted sires and maternal grandsires.

Combine the current G-Star and FutureStar lists and you'll see:
- 29 sires with >1000 lbs PTAM and >+2.0 PTAT
- 18 sires with >1000 lbs PTAM and >+0.5 DPR
- 39 sires with >100 lbs CFP
- 21 sires with >+4.0 PL and >+1.0 DPR
- 31 sires with >+2.0 PTAT and +2.0 UDC
Through use of groups of G-Stars and FutureStars according to a selected genetic plan, Global Advantage® herds will be sure to realize a tremendous amount of genetic progress. In fact, some of the early herds to become a part of the program are already realizing this progress, with 2 year old and springer pens full of daughters by current daughter proven standouts like AltaR2, AltaBERLAGE , AltaTOYOTA and AltaLOCKLYN. The fantastic group of current G-Stars and FutureStars assures that Global Advantage® partners will be sure to reach their genetics goals!
