Jersey Sire Summary, December 2011 - Genetic Gifts: Great Udders and Production

KARBALA is Alta's first Jersey to graduate from the FutureStar program to Daughter Proven. This Iatola son is backed by the 'Berretta Prize' family that continues to prove its transmitting ability for stylish type with production and health – the kind of cows dairymen around the globe strive to breed for.

Daughters of KARBALA are among barn favorites with their well above average stature (+2.6) and easy mobility in commercial dairy environments. Their shallow udders (+2.8) are pleasing from all angles, particularly from the side, with welded-on fore udders (+2.1). KARBALA daughters are the kind built to effortlessly work hard and be long-lasting.

11JE0968 Steinhauers Iatola APPLEJACK (Iatola x Hallmark x Ceasar) 122 JPI™

APPLEJACK debuts as the #2 RUH and RUW sire in the breed (only behind Alta sire 11JE0926 Cyrus). He is also #3 for JUI™ and the highest JUI™ sire that is positive for milk pounds. Both the maternal and paternal sides of the pedigree emphasize a style where daughters can produce well, and look good doing so. APPLEJACK was syndicated at the 2007 All American Jersey sale and purchased by Alta/JLS and 51 Jersey Breeders.

Daughters of APPLEJACK are easy to spot with their shallow udder depth (+3.0) and flashy rear udders. Their fore udders are well attached (+1.9) with the teats tucked perfectly underneath.
